... and they're mine!!!

Whilst in Vegas - I had to get myself a new pair of shoes.  I always do - I am pretty sure that the Vegas TSA won't let me leave without them.

I had originally thought that I would get myself a pair of cute Steve Madden's, as they are my go to shoe.  However, I found these beauties.  They are so cute, comfy, and they are made from the softest leather I have ever touched!!

Thank you, Shooz of Las Vegas.

May your day be filled with cute shoes,

Andrea

A Few Things I Have Learned....

We ALL have our moments, right??  We all have days where, against our better judgement, we find ourselves wrist deep in a bag of Cheetos.  Then we spend the next few days beating ourselves up about it, only to turn to our closest companion - cinnamon bears.  And so the cycle begins.

I had three great weeks under my belt.  Three weeks of "no thank yous" and "no desserts for me, thanks."  I am not too sure where I took the turn into the dark side, but wow.  It was as though gremlin Andrea took over, and the smart Andrea was cowering the corner.  However, the force is strong in this one - and I overcame my stupidity.

I have learned a lesson through all of this - I suppose if we look hard enough we can find lessons in all of our actions.  I have learned that making the healthy food choice will never be easy for me.  It will never be something that is second nature.  I will never find myself craving baked chicken, wild rice, and broccoli.  Never.  I will have to be an active participant in making the right choice, and that is okay.

My inner voice will always say, "choose the crab cakes, and the pasta - with extra cheese.... do it, do it, do it, do it!!!!!"  I just have to acknowledge that the inner voice is a little crazy, and we can't really listen to her.  She is also the voice that says it is totally normal to own over 200 pairs of shoes.

I had to go grocery shopping yesterday - and what to my wondering eyes did appear???  Freaking peeps!!!  Yes, I am the gal that can sit down and polish off three boxes of peeps without batting an eye.  Easter candy is my favorite, ALL TIME FAVORITE!!  I stood in front of the candy for 15 minutes... touching, smelling, putting back, picking back up....  I think I may have frightened the other shoppers.  I eventually walked away with no candy, but I can't help but pray that the Easter Bunny knows my address.  (and if that bastard leaves me carrots I will go all ninja on his ass.)

Here's to a new day, and to new beginnings.

May your day be filled with strength and excellent choices.

I Think I Can, I Think I Can....

Alright Boys and Girls - here is the mid-term.

I am traveling this week for work - yay, I get to get out of the house.  However, I will also be away from my routine, my fridge, my lunch box, my security blanket.... WHAT AM I TO DO!?!?!?!

I have gotten some great tips and advice, and so I have thought ahead and prepared myself -

1.  Oatmeal measured in baggies - check
2.  Almonds measured in baggies - check
3.  Protein powder measured in baggies - check
5.  Vitamins in their day by day container - check
6.  Chicken measured in freezer for tomorrows meals - check
7.  Menu's scoped out, and decisions made for those I can predetermine - check (I'll have the baked chicken, no fancy butter, and the large serving of steamed broccoli thankyouverymuch.)
8.  Whole foods found, and worked into my schedule - check

Will power engaged and full speed ahead!!!!  Here goes nothing...

Feel free to send encouraging words my way.

May your day be filled with excellent advice and well executed plans,

Andrea

Important Things I Have Learned This Week.

This week has been challenging: physically and mentally.  That said, I feel like I am pulling through like a champ!!  I have had a series of mantras, so to speak, that has helped this rookie upgrade her status to... intermediate.

1. Old McDonald had a farm - not french fries.
2. Put your feet on the floor; get your butt out the door.
3. You may take extreme solace in a piece of gum.  It's totally normal.
4. It's yogurt time, and that is the best time, hooray for yogurt time.
5. Sugar, is what we call the husband, not something to eat.
6. You are more than your mileage.
7.  It is not important to be the fastest on the track, but lordy it feels good!!
8.  All the people on the street that smile as you run past are your cheerleaders, make them proud.
9.  Cupcakes are for quitters.
10. We do not put cheap fuel in expensive cars.  Translation - No Twinkies.

Alright!  WE have made it through week one with flying colors (well - except for the pepper incident).  Looking forward to next week!  I'm going to be on the road, so please, send me fun words of encouragement, kind thoughts, and many prayers.

May your day lack temptation.
